Why is this research being done?
Breastfeeding has the greatest potential to improve child survival, health, development, and wellbeing. This study aims to better understand the level and types of breastfeeding support that Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women receive, what helps women to breastfeed and what some of the barriers are that stop women from starting or continuing breastfeeding. This information will help to development a culturally safe breastfeeding support program for Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women living in the Tamworth region (Gomeroi/Kamilaroi lands).
Who can be involved?
Persons who are over 18 years old, identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres strait Islander, have given birth in the last 5 years and live in or around the Tamworth region (Gomeroi/Kamilaroi lands).
What do I have to do to be involved?
